At the XXII Winter Olympics in Sochi, the Russian team managed to set a record for the number of awards won. For the first time since the collapse of the USSR, the Russian team took part in the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer, winning 23 medals. For 20 years, this was our best result, which we managed to surpass only this year.

3. Canada (gold - 9, silver - 10, bronze - 5)

Canadians won gold in bobsleigh, curling, freestyle, hockey and short track. It is noteworthy, not a single athlete of this team has won more than one medal.

2. Norway (gold - 11, silver - 5, bronze - 10)

Norwegians were the strongest in biathlon, Nordic combined, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing. Two gold medals went to skiers Marit Bjergen and Jorgen Graabak, as well as biathletes Ole Einar Bjerndalen and Emil Svendsen.

1. Russia (gold - 13, silver - 11, bronze - 9)
